Venue and Seating Information
Madison Square Garden, located in the heart of New York, is renowned for its multi-level indoor arena that offers exceptional sightlines from nearly every seat. The seating is divided into four main levels: Floor, 100 Level (Lower Bowl), 200 Level (Mid-Bridge), and 300 Level (Upper Bowl). For sports events like basketball, the 100 Level is considered the best overall viewing option due to its direct sightlines to the court, particularly in center side sections.
The Floor seats provide an immersive experience, placing fans right at court level, while the 200 Level offers elevated views that are excellent for seeing plays develop. However, it is advisable to avoid seats directly behind the stage or extreme upper corner sections, as these may have obstructed views depending on the event setup.
Parking Information
Parking around Madison Square Garden can be challenging due to its Midtown Manhattan location. On-site parking is limited, making nearby commercial garages a popular choice for attendees. Here are some parking options:
- Nearby Commercial Garages: Multiple private garages are located within a 1–5 minute walk from the venue near Penn Station and 8th Avenue, with prices typically ranging from $30 to $80 for major events.
- Slightly Farther Garages: Garages located 10–15 minutes walking distance toward Herald Square or Chelsea offer better pricing, usually around $20 to $50 depending on demand.
It is advisable to avoid last-minute parking near the arena during major events due to extreme pricing and full capacity garages. Additionally, unverified street parking spots in restricted Midtown zones should be avoided to prevent fines.
Prices currently start around $40 for general admission tickets and can go up to $150 or more for premium seating options at this highly anticipated exhibition game at Madison Square Garden.
